Fan Discharge Airflow Measurement
Measuring turbulent fan discharge air flow with accurate and reliable equipment from Air Monitor allows your building’s HVAC systems to effectively and efficiently meet energy conservation and health & safety requirements. Accurately measuring ducted air flow is complicated by turbulent, rotating, and multi-directional fan discharge air flows normally present following vane-axial or centrifugal fans.Accurate fan discharge air flow measurements in short runs
Air Monitor’s duct air flow measuring stations are unrivaled in their ability to accurately measure flow in the most challenging situations, such as following a fan's discharge. These measurement devices, transmitters, and stations can be easily installed in both new and existing systems.Easily calibrate airflow signal transmissions with utmost accuracy
The most critical and demanding HVAC airflow measurement applications require highly accurate and stable signal transmission. Air Monitor transmitters can be easily configured and calibrated and can transmit measurements in ultra-low differential pressure and flow applications with ±0.1% of natural span accuracy.AMCA-certified airflow measurement station
Air Monitor’s FANEvaluator (FAN-E) Airflow Measuring Station is licensed to bear the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal for Airflow Measurement Station Performance, ensuring extremely accurate fan discharge air flow measurement (2% of actual flow or better) under turbulent conditions present in HVAC ducts.ELECTRA-flo 5 Series Thermal Airflow Measurement System
The ELECTRA-flo Thermal Probe Array utilizes thermal dispersion technology in multi-point probes to measure average air flow and temperature. The rugged anodized aluminum probes have aerodynamic sensor apertures that condition turbulent airflow, resulting in a NIST traceable accuracy of ±2% of actual flow. Each probe array comes complete with an ELECTRA-flo G5 Transmitter that provides connectivity to BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU networks. Two analog outputs are also available for airflow and temperature.
ELECTRA-flo/CM Thermal Airflow Measurement Station
ELECTRA-flo/CM thermal duct air flow measuring stations combine thermal dispersion measurement technology with an integral honeycomb cell air straightener to assure measurement accuracy within ±2-3%. The honeycomb cell air straightener is vital to obtain these degrees of accuracy under turbulent, rotating and multi-directional airflows normally present near fan inlets or discharge ducts. Each station is accompanied by an ELECTRA-flo G5 Transmitter with several connectivity options.
FAN-E Pitot Airflow Measurement Traverse Station
The FAN-Evaluator Station is a multi-point, self-averaging Pitot traverse station with an integral air straightening honeycomb cell. It’s capable of continuously measuring ducted airflow with a certified accuracy of ±2% when tested to AMCA Standard 610. This accuracy is a result of the sensor locations and sensing ports, the honeycomb airflow processing, and the instantaneous pneumatic averaging of multiple pressure values. Designed for very limited straight duct runs and/or highly disturbed airflow, such as centrifugal fans.
VOLU-probe Pitot Airflow Measurement Traverse Probe
The VOLU-probe Airflow Traverse Probes consist of multiple Pitot total and static pressure sensing ports positioned along the length of each probe to traverse the duct cross-section. Each probe measures air velocity by averaging the sensed pressures in their separate internal manifolds and provides velocity pressure measurement accurate to within 2-3% of actual flow.
Several models of the VOLU-probe are available for differently sized duct sides and configurations.
ELECTRA-flo/SD Thermal Airflow & Temperature Measurement System
The ELECTRA-flo/SD is an accurate, cost-effective thermal duct airflow measuring system specifically designed for VAV box installations and small duct applications using 4″-16″ ducts.
The low flow measurement capability of the ELECTRA-flo/SD allows for reduced minimum airflow settings and increased system efficiencies while still meeting IAQ requirements. Installation and set-up are easy in both new and existing systems.
VELTRON DPT 2500-plus Transmitter
The VELTRON DPT 2500-plus transmitter is furnished with an automatic zeroing circuit capable of electronically adjusting the transmitter zero at predetermined time intervals while simultaneously holding the transmitter output signal. The automatic zeroing circuit eliminates all output signal drift due to thermal, electronic, or mechanical effects, as well as the need for initial or periodic transmitter zeroing. For transmitters operating in a moderately steady temperature location, this automatic zeroing function produces a “self-calibrating” transmitter.
VOLU-probe/VS Pitot Airflow Measurement Traverse Station
The VOLU-probe/VS Station utilizes one or more VOLU-probes, factory mounted in a rigid, welded, galvanized casing to sense and average separate total and static pressure traverses of an air stream. The station has a certified accuracy of ± 2% when tested in accordance with AMCA Standard 610. Each probe contains multiple sets of Pitot sensing ports positioned equidistant along the length of the probe. They traverse the duct cross-section and average the sensed pressures in separate internal manifolds.
